Feature Creatures
During Creativity Week at Castlehead Academy, we had the pleasure of working with S1 pupils, introducing them to the exciting world of sculpture. The focus was on some of the fundamentals of the craft, including modelling and casting. The students had the chance to explore these techniques hands-on by creating faces out of clay, which they then used to take plaster impressions.
It was an engaging and fun process, as the pupils discovered how to manipulate the clay to shape facial features and experiment with texture. Once the clay faces were formed, we guided them through the process of creating casts, showing them how plaster could capture the fine details of their work. The session was a fantastic introduction to the world of sculpture, allowing the students to engage their creativity, develop new skills, and take home something truly unique they’d crafted themselves.
