Laura was thrilled to be invited to create both an exhibition and an outdoor installation for Jupiter Artland’s Summer ’24 programme, a prestigious opportunity to showcase her work in such a renowned setting. One of the standout pieces in her outdoor installation was a stunning water fountain, where she worked closely with the talented Paisley-based fabricators, Michael Smiths Fabrications. Together, they designed and crafted a bespoke metal support structure that would hold her intricate ceramic pieces, ensuring both strength and elegance in the final design.
The ceramic elements for the fountain were carefully created at Sculpture House, where Laura poured her creativity and skill into each piece. The collaboration with Michael Smiths Fabrications ensured that the metal structure harmonized perfectly with the ceramics, allowing the fountain to come to life as a beautiful blend of art and function. The combination of materials and the thoughtful design process culminated in a visually striking piece that will be a central feature in the outdoor space at Jupiter Artland, offering visitors a unique and immersive experience.
It was a wonderful fusion of craftsmanship, creativity, and collaboration, showcasing the best of both ceramic artistry and metalwork.
