BLEND FOLD MOVE

Blend Fold Move was a Sculpture in Schools Project led by Artists Coral Brookes and Eo Stearn. Over six sessions, pupils from St Fergus and Glencoats Primary Schools experimented with a variety of materials to explore the connections between bodies and landscapes—ranging from architecture and buildings to natural spaces like gardens. They also navigated the space between the real and imaginary worlds.

Students were encouraged to share their ideas and reflections to help shape the programme for the summer. One idea from a Glencoats Primary pupil, Blend – Fold – Move, inspired a collaborative, shapeshifting making game. This concept formed the basis of the programme’s flexible, playful approach, allowing students to work together with different materials, processes, and ideas, including casting, printing, carving, clay, and textiles.
