Signs for the Dye Garden

David created a series of 25 ceramic artworks that serve both as labels for the Dye Garden and as standalone pieces of art. These works provide information about the different dye plants while also showcasing David’s ceramic practice. As a member of the Making Space Workshop at Sculpture House, David designed each piece with a blank central tableau, allowing Laura Spring to record details such as plant colours and planting dates.

Each sign is unique and demonstrates David’s approach to texture and mark-making, blending functional art with natural beauty to complement the surrounding environment.
