Ferguslie Dye Gardeners

During our pilot year of the Dye Garden Project, May 2023 – April 2024, we hosted a free, fortnightly drop-in workshop for Ferguslie residents at Sculpture House with textile designer-in-residence, Laura Spring.

Laura is developing a dye garden at Sculpture House to create natural dyes and print pastes for use in textiles.

The workshops followed the growing cycle of the plants from seed to flower to harvest, nurturing and caring for them and the soil they grew in. We turned the harvested plants into our own naturally dyed textiles over the winter months with the project culminating in a display of the work created at Open House in April 2024.

The Ferguslie Dye Gardeners group is currently paused whilst we evaluate our pilot year and make plans for the new growing season, but we will be back soon and have some exciting developments underway…

Please keep checking this page or email us if you want to know more about when we will return.
