Dye Garden

Sculpture House resident Laura Spring is developing a dye garden in the front of Sculpture House with the support of designer/anthropologist Dr Charlotte Linton and Sculpture House artist Laura Aldridge. During the pilot year, May 2023 – April 2024, Spring worked with local schoolchildren and residents to grow plants in raised beds that were used for printing and dyeing textiles. The garden also hosted a regular, fortnightly workshop for the local community as well as a programme of events and talks. The garden will be used to research and educate with longer term planting and landscape regeneration providing dye materials for Laura and the community’s future use in her textile studio.

If you would like to find out more or become involved please do get in touch. You can visit Laura’s blog page for the Dye Garden here
